ABOUT THE AUTHOR

A.J. Blackwell is the pen name of the author. He writes psychological literary fiction about people caught in the messiness of life — where desire, power, and betrayal collide with the search for authenticity. His work explores what happens when others try to shape who we are, and what it takes to resist, reclaim, and speak in our own voice.

He is particularly drawn to women’s perspectives, writing stories that centre female experience, resilience, and the choices women make when confronted with pressure, coercion, or expectation. His characters often struggle with the cost of honesty — to themselves, to others, and to the roles society has assigned them.

His debut novel, Authored by Others, uncovers a hidden world of manipulation within publishing, asking what happens when an author’s life becomes a story written by others. His second book, Eventually You Will, expands this vision through nine intimate short stories exploring the quiet complexities of female desire, choice, and identity.

When he isn’t writing, A.J. can usually be found chasing research rabbit holes, experimenting with new story ideas, or exploring how narrative shapes the way we understand ourselves. He lives in the UK and is already hard at work on his next project.
